Amazon to Invest Over $100 Million in New Indiana Robotics Manufacturing Facility

Amazon.com plans to invest more than $100 million to construct a new robotics-manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana, slated to open by 2028. The site marks Amazon's fourth dedicated robot-making plant and, alongside a planned hub in Austin, Texas, will double its worldwide robot-production footprint. Amazon aims to scale internal hardware capacity for warehouse sorting, lifting, and transport. Since acquiring Kiva Systems for $775 million in 2012, Amazon has deployed over one million robots across its logistics network, reducing recordable workplace injuries by over 40% while lowering fulfillment costs.
