Amazon to Hire Over 300,000 U.S. Holiday Workers, Up 20% From Prior Year

Amazon announced plans to hire more than 300,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time workers across its U.S. operations network for the peak holiday season. The record hiring target marks a 20% increase from the 250,000 workers sought in recent years, diverging from broader retail sector pullbacks. Seasonal staff will earn an average of at least $20 per hour, while regular core operations personnel average nearly $24 per hour. In addition, Amazon will offer day-one healthcare coverage beginning in January for employees scheduled for at least 30 hours weekly, with premiums starting at $5 per week.
