Amazon Taps Amwell Co-Founder to Lead Healthcare as Shares Rise 2.5%

Amazon has appointed Dr. Roy Schoenberg, co-founder of telehealth firm Amwell, to head its healthcare business effective July 1, 2026. He succeeds Neil Lindsay, who is stepping down after leading Amazon Health Services since 2021 and will serve as an advisor through year-end. The leadership shift brings direct industry expertise to the unit overseeing One Medical and the online pharmacy, described as one of Amazon’s fastest-growing segments. Investors reacted positively, lifting Amazon shares 2.5% to $271.85 while Amwell shares gained 4.2% to $8.84.
