Amazon Sellers Gain Sales and Cut Costs With AI Tools

Amazon reported that its suite of AI tools helped independent sellers boost sales and cut costs in 2025, according to its Small Business Empowerment Report. Agentic features like Seller Assistant (230,000+ monthly users) and generative listing tools (used to create 12 million+ listings) drove high adoption — sellers followed AI recommendations 90% of the time. Independent sellers now account for over 60% of Amazon store sales; the number of sellers with more than $1M in sales rose 36% to surpass 75,000, while average annual U.S. seller sales climbed 30% to top $375,000. Amazon says these gains supported more than 2 million jobs and underscores CEO Andy Jassy’s view that AI will reshape retail and other businesses.
