Amazon lays off 121 workers across corporate and fulfillment jobs in Washington state

Amazon has filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) indicating plans to cut 121 jobs across Washington state. The layoffs impact various operations, including corporate tech hubs in Bellevue and Seattle as well as fulfillment operations at the BFI1 center in Sumner. The single largest concentration of job cuts is in Bellevue's SEA106 building, where 49 roles across software development, science, management, and legal teams are affected. In Seattle, affected employees include human resources leaders, product managers, and technical writers, while Sumner will see 32 warehouse and technician positions eliminated. According to the regulatory filing, affected personnel received notice in July, with final separations scheduled between October 1 and October 27, 2026. Amazon provided a 90-day window allowing workers to pursue internal transfer opportunities. These targeted job reductions follow prior regional workforce trims, reflecting the tech giant's ongoing strategic adjustments to streamline management layers and control operating costs amid broader sector-wide talent realignments.
