Amazon Hits 390 Satellites, Ready for Leo Broadband Launch Later This Year

Amazon has now deployed more than 390 satellites, enough to begin initial commercial Leo satellite broadband service later in 2026. Full-scale deployment started in April 2025, with the latest United Launch Alliance mission adding 29 satellites to reach the milestone and make the constellation the third-largest in orbit. The company targets roughly 7,700 satellites overall but still trails SpaceX Starlink’s 10,000 satellites and more than 10 million subscribers; early service will be geographically limited while capacity scales.
