Amazon Hires Former Microsoft Copilot CTO Pedram Rezaei for Agentic AI Unit

Amazon Web Services has hired former Microsoft Copilot Chief Technology Officer Pedram Rezaei as a distinguished engineer in its Agentic AI and Emerging Technologies group. Rezaei, who spent around two decades at Microsoft, will focus on AWS's Quick productivity assistant and Kiro AI coding tool. The strategic move comes as AWS reports accelerating adoption across its enterprise AI offerings, with monthly AI users for Quick quadrupling and Kiro active users doubling between the first and second quarters. Amazon has also re-hired veteran engineers Marvin Theimer and Reto Kramer for neurosymbolic AI initiatives.
