Amazon expands its Quick AI assistant on mobile in challenge to Microsoft and Google
Amazon has announced the general availability of its Amazon Quick desktop application for Windows and macOS, while concurrently expanding key capabilities to its iOS and Android mobile apps. The signature Activity Feed feature consolidates emails, Slack communications, calendar invites, and CRM updates into a unified, prioritized stream, enabling users to execute workflows without switching between disparate applications. Under the updated architecture, Amazon Quick's AI agents now operate natively in the cloud, maintaining task execution in the background even after users close their laptops. Full synchronization between desktop and mobile environments allows continuous task handoff across devices. In terms of monetization, Quick offers a free tier alongside paid individual plans starting at $20 per user per month billed annually, and enterprise tiers priced between $20 and $40 per user per month. With early adoption by enterprise clients like Southwest Airlines, LabCorp, and the PGA Tour, this release strengthens Amazon's competitive standing against workplace AI assistants from Microsoft, Alphabet, and OpenAI, providing a potential catalyst for AWS software revenue growth.
