Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) Expands Partnership with NiSource

Amazon is expanding partnerships and strategic investments that could drive further revenue and capacity monetization across AWS and satellite services. The company updated an agreement with utility NiSource to accelerate energization and bill credits for residential customers, struck a definitive merger agreement to acquire Globalstar to bolster Amazon Leo’s direct-to-device satellite capabilities, and agreed with Apple to power satellite services for iPhone and Apple Watch. CEO Andy Jassy reiterated a $200 billion capex plan focused on AI, noting AWS added 3.9 GW of power in 2025 and expects to double capacity by end-2027. Amazon also plans $25 billion in Mississippi data-center investment (including $11B in Madison County and $1B in Hinds County) and 2,000 jobs. These moves signal continued capital deployment to monetize cloud and connectivity offerings, supporting a positive market outlook for AMZN shares.
