Amazon and No Kid Hungry Deliver More Than 2 Million Meals to Families in Rural Communities This Summer

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), in collaboration with the non-profit organization No Kid Hungry, announced the completion of its Summer Meals for Kids pilot program. Running from May through August 2026, the initiative successfully delivered over 2 million shelf-stable meals directly to families in rural communities across 13 U.S. states. The initiative leveraged Amazon's extensive last-mile logistics and rural transportation infrastructure to overcome mobility and distance hurdles faced by rural families under the USDA's Summer Food Service Program. The pilot operated across 18 local food bank and school district partners, providing free doorstep deliveries typically within 24 to 72 hours of ordering. Since 2020, Amazon has delivered more than 60 million meals via non-profit partnerships across the United States and the United Kingdom, having extended its free delivery commitment for food bank partners through 2028. From a market perspective, the program highlights Amazon's ongoing efforts to leverage its vast logistics capabilities for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and public-private logistics partnerships, reinforcing its brand equity and community relations across underserved rural domestic markets.
