Amazon and GoodRx are expanding their subscription-based prescription programs to meet growing consumer demand as US healthcare costs rise and insurance coverage declines. Amazon offers its RxPass for $5 per month to Prime members, while GoodRx provides access starting at $14.99 per month. The expansion follows significant traction: Amazon's RxPass subscriber base has nearly tripled since its 2023 launch, and GoodRx saw second-quarter subscription revenue surge 39% year-over-year to $28.5 million. The move comes as employer-sponsored health plan costs are projected to climb by up to 11% in 2027.
