Altcoin Spot Volume Surges to Four Times Bitcoin's Amid Broad Market Capital Rotation

Altcoin spot trading volume has surged to four times that of Bitcoin, marking its highest relative level since September 2025. The shift comes as Bitcoin's market dominance dropped below 59% to 58.9%, while 72.5% of tracked altcoins outperformed Bitcoin in late September. The rotation expanded the TOTAL2 altcoin market capitalization to roughly $1.17 trillion to $1.2 trillion, up over $371 billion since June. However, analysts caution that such volume divergences historically precede Bitcoin pullbacks, noting slowing spot Bitcoin ETF inflows alongside rising exchange deposits on Binance and Coinbase.
