Alkane Resources to enter the S&P/ASX 200
Alkane Resources will join the S&P/ASX 200 effective before the market open on April 22, replacing National Storage REIT. The inclusion reflects stronger operational and financial momentum: March-quarter production of 45,776 ounces gold equivalent across Tomingley, Costerfield and Björkdal; cash, bullion and listed investments of A$374m (closing cash and bullion A$362m); and a new A$150m syndicated debt package (A$110m revolving credit, A$40m contingent facility) arranged with major Australian banks. Alkane also advanced a Nagambie JV with a A$2.5m share subscription and a 12-month sole-funded earn-in option. Index inclusion should lift demand from ASX 200-tracking funds and improve liquidity and investor attention for Alkane, while its stronger balance sheet limits downside risk to broader Australia 200 index composition.
