$1.3M-Funded OpenAgents Pays Gamers and Everyday PCs in Bitcoin via Pylon Distributed AI Network

OpenAgents closed a $1.3 million pre-seed round to expand Pylon, its Bitcoin-native distributed compute network that pays contributors in bitcoin. The startup aims to monetize idle consumer hardware (gaming PCs, Macs, older machines) for inference, embeddings and distributed training via a Nexus coordination/treasury layer and a Rust ML stack (Psionic). Early traction includes more than one million satoshis paid from the hosted Nexus treasury and over 1,000 Pylon instances during the public beta. Market impact: by routing payouts in BTC and onboarding a new cohort of users who earn bitcoin for compute, OpenAgents could modestly increase on-chain bitcoin flows, broaden retail engagement, and create new demand vectors for BTC as a settlement asset in decentralized AI compute markets.
